Yesterday we took some children from year 5 and 6 to a world cup tag rugby tournament in Silloth. This was a big tournament with 20 schools taking part. Each school was given a country to represent for the day. We were given Italy. We were put into groups just like the world cup and had to play everyone in our group. We were against Thomlinson Juniors, Kirkbride, Distington and Broughton. The children played fantastic all morning and we didn't lose a game. This meant we finished first place in our group and were through to the quarter finals. Our next game, against Derwent Vale, was a thriller where both teams played exceptionally well and it resulted in a draw. It then went down to golden try and we were fortunate enough to score it. We were then through to the semi finals which was against Beckstone. This was another tough game but we came out on top winning 7-6 so we were into the final. This was against Silloth and it was another brilliant game but also very tense. We played some brilliant tag rugby and won the game 8-5. A big well done to all the children involved.
