‘A Forest School is an innovative educational approach to outdoor play and learning.’

(Forest School Education – www.forestschools.com)

Forest School is an inspirational process that offers all learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland or natural environment with trees. Through Forest School learning, children will develop: self awareness; self regulation; empathy; good social communication skills; independence; a positive mental attitude, self-esteem and confidence. Children will have the opportunity to learn about the natural environment, how to handle risks and most importantly to use their own initiative to solve problems and co-operate with others.

We currently have two sights for Forest School. One on the school field and the other in a local woodland area. Forest School is currently taking place in the Early Years Foundation Unit on the school's field.
